Luminary Skin (“we”, “us”, or “our”) operates getluminaryskin.com. This policy explains what information we collect when you use our site, how we use it, and what rights you have. We keep it plain — if something is unclear, email us and we will explain it.

Quiz answers

When you take the skin quiz we ask about your skin type, concerns, sensitivities, budget, location, and routine preferences. These answers are used solely to generate your personalised recommendation. They are stored temporarily in your browser session and, if you create an account, linked to that account so you can revisit your results.

Account information

If you choose to create an account we collect your email address. Account data is stored with Supabase, our authentication provider. You can delete your account at any time by emailing us.

Usage and analytics data

We use Google Analytics and PostHog to understand how visitors use the site — pages visited, time on page, quiz completion rates, and similar behavioural events. This data is aggregated and does not identify you personally. You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Cookies

We use cookies for authentication (keeping you logged in), analytics (Google Analytics, PostHog), and session state. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though some features may not work correctly if you do.

Email

If you sign up to receive skincare tips or result summaries, your email is stored with Resend, our email delivery provider. We do not sell email addresses and you can unsubscribe at any time via the link in any email we send.

Some product links on this site are affiliate links. When you click one and make a purchase we may earn a commission from the retailer at no extra cost to you. Commission rates do not influence our recommendations — product rankings are determined by our evidence-based scoring system. We disclose affiliate relationships plainly throughout the site and in every relevant piece of content.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your quiz answers for advertising purposes.

We use the following third-party services to operate the site:

• Supabase — user authentication and account storage (US-based servers)
• Contentful — content management for articles, ingredient guides, and product reviews
• Resend — transactional and marketing email delivery
• Vercel — website hosting and content delivery
• Google Analytics — aggregate site analytics
• PostHog — product analytics and event tracking
• Anthropic (Claude AI) — powers the recommendation engine; quiz answers are processed by Claude to generate your routine but are not retained by Anthropic for training by default

Each provider has its own privacy policy. We choose providers carefully and only share the minimum data necessary for each service to function.

Anonymous analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics and PostHog default settings. Account data is retained until you request deletion. Email addresses are retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion.

Depending on where you are located you may have rights including: access to your personal data, correction of inaccurate data, deletion of your data, restriction of processing, and data portability. If you are in the UK or EU these rights are granted under the UK GDPR and GDPR respectively.

This site is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
